The 2nd Annual Shenandoah Valley Governor’s School Summer Music Camp will be held at the Governor’s School in Fishersville!
There are three different sessions offered:
1. June 4-7: The Whole World in Your Hands: Conducting and Interpretation for Musicians
2. June 4 – 7: A Songwriters Workshop
3. June 11-15: Shenandoah Summer Strings: An Ensemble Experience for Young String Players offered in partnership with the Heifetz International Music Institute
All sessions are from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. Please see more detailed information below!
The Summer Music Camp is a day camp for rising 8th-12th graders in the Augusta County, Staunton, and Waynesboro and surrounding areas. Basic music fluency is assumed. An audition is required for the String Ensemble. Instructions for submitting an audition tape are located on the school website. Click here for instructions on submitting an audition tape.
Students will participate in musical enrichment opportunities and receive instruction to enhance musical performance skills. This summer music experience promises to be both highly rewarding and very enjoyable!
All registration forms and payment in full are due to SVGS no later than May 1, 2018.
Tuition for the June 4-7 sessions is $50 each and tuition for the June 11-15 session is $75. Checks for payment should be made out to SVGS and mailed to SVGS 49 Hornet Rd., Fishersville, VA 22980. Fees for students with special financial considerations may be adjusted or waived.
