The Shenandoah Valley Governor’s School is a regional school serving 230 juniors and seniors from seven public high schools in Augusta County, Staunton, and Waynesboro. Students attend this shared day, intensive, and selective program in the sciences or in the arts and humanities.

Biology Teacher – SHENANDOAH VALLEY GOVERNOR’S SCHOOL
Qualifications for the position include:
- Master’s Degree or Doctorate in the field of Biology or related field with 18 graduate credit hours of Biology required
- Interest in providing students intensive experience in lab work, scientific research, and advanced bio-technology.
- Interests in teaching topics or courses in microbiology, molecular biology, anatomy and physiology, neuroscience, bioinformatics and/or genomics preferred
- Teaching Experience preferred
- Qualify for a Virginia Teaching License
- 210 day teaching contract, salary and benefits aligned with Augusta County Schools pay scale.
Sociology Adjunct – SHENANDOAH VALLEY GOVERNOR’S SCHOOL
Qualifications for the position include:
- Master’s Degree or Doctorate in the field of Sociology or related field with 18 graduate credit hours of Sociology required
- Interest in providing students intensive knowledge and experience in the field of sociology
- Interest in teaching topics or courses in general sociology, sociology of the family, community, culture and/or environment preferred
- Teaching Experience preferred
- Duties include teaching one course per semester and maintaining 4-5 hours of class and office hours on campus per week each semester.
- Interest in working with gifted students in a unique learning community is preferred
