Our Partners

Our local arts, business, and industry community supports SVGS in many ways.  Business and industry leaders participate in career days, give guest lectures, plant tours and support mentorships and practicums.  Financial contributions from parents and the business community continue to support special activities, co-curricular programs, and student research projects.  SVGS is proud to have worked with Augusta Health, Virginia Wildlife Center, Western State, Invista, Eye One, Shenandoah Valley Art Center, Shenanarts, Rexnord, Cadence, Department of Transportation, Kjellstrom & Lee, Dynamic Aviation, City of Waynesboro, Premier, Inc. Blackwell Engineering, Luchair Company, Wilson Workforce and Rehabilitation Center, and the Frontier Culture Museum.

SVGS participates in various activities with university partners. In recent years, these have included guest lectures from university professors, staff development opportunities and workshops for students.  Students have conducted research with professors at James Madison University and University of Virginia.  In addition, SVGS offers classes for James Madison University and Blue Ridge Community College  credit.  SVGS also serves as a site for educational leadership classes for James Madison University.

SVGS Director’s Endowment Fund

Shenandoah Valley Governor’s School has numerous alumni, students, parents and patrons who have expressed an interest in contributing financially to the current and future needs and general welfare of the school. As a result, SVGS students(Class of 2012), Grant Sauer, Molly Huss and Trevor Fisher established this fund to show their appreciation of SVGS, its staff and the many opportunities offered to them and other students in Staunton, Waynesboro and Augusta County. As their senior project, Grant Sauer, Molly Huss and Trevor Fisher wanted to show their appreciation of SVGS, its staff and the many opportunities offered to them and other students in Staunton, Waynesboro and Augusta County.

These students partnered with The Community Foundation of Central Blue Ridge to establish the SVGS Director’s Fund in honor of Linda N. Cauley, the first director of the school who retired in 2011. This endowment will benefit SVGS programs not covered by the school budget—such as scholarships, trip support and other appropriate purposes. This fund offers parents of current and former SVGS students along with the community, an opportunity to contribute to this program.
