Over the last fifteen years, SVGS has participated in an International Exchange Program with Mihai Viteazul National College in Bucharest, Romania. Last year, ten Romanian students and two teachers came to visit us in October, and students from SVGS had the opportunity to visit Romania over spring break. When the students come here, SVGS students host them in their homes and help them experience “American” life, and then host students who become the guests in Romania in the spring. SVGS will host Romanian exchange students this year from Sunday, October 5th, until Monday, October 13th. There will be several field trips over the week the Romanian students are here, and student hosts are welcome to attend at least one of the field trips. There will also be a dinner at the school on Thursday, October 16th, celebrating Romanian and American culture.
On Friday, August 22nd, there will be a meeting for any students interested in participating in the exchange program. The meeting will take place directly after school (10:52) in the “Fish Tank”/26C.
Please let Mrs. Robords know by Wednesday morning, August 20th, if you are interested in attending the meeting, and she can contact your home schools regarding your delayed arrival time. The meeting should take about twenty minutes.
