
Orientation for all new students at SVGS will be held August 12 -15 .
During that week, students will learn with what they can expect as a student at SVGS and how to be successful in a different learning environment. Students will meet their peers from other schools, returning students and teachers. They will learn to navigate SVGS and use our technology. Orientation activities focus understanding the academic expectations in their program. Students will participate in various project/labs, other class activities, have their first assignments and attend a regular day of classes. Activities are designed to help students transition successfully to both a new school and new challenges.
ORIENTATION INFORMATION
Dates and times for SVGS orientation are as follows:

*When students arrive the first day, they are to report to the main area of SVGS. All students are given a mailbox and will find their schedule for the day, nametag, forms and other information in their box. Student teaching assistants and staff will be available to students navigate SVGS and find their mailbox.
PARKING
Students may park in the side lot nearest Wilson Elementary School and in the lot nearest Wilson High School. Students are not to part in the front lot of Valley Vocational Technical Center or across the road. Parents should drop students off in the front lot of Valley Vocational Technical Center.
FORMS
On the first day of Orientation you will be given a packet of forms. Each form must be filled out completely, signed by both student and parent, and returned to Mrs. Conner during Orientation. Failure to return any completed form by Tuesday, August 13, will result in the disengagement of student computer privileges.
