Historically, many incoming governor’s school STEM students have struggled with trigonometry concepts in the first semester or have varying comfort levels with general technology and EXCEL. This year, we are offering two special workshops and inviting new students to participate to help them gain the confidence and skills needed to be successful. These workshops are described below.
For students who want to attend one or both workshops, please click here to sign-up no later than July 25.
TRIG BLITZ: Trigonometry plays an important role in physics, math, and engineering from the first week of school and students need to be comfortable with these skills from the outset.
When: Tuesday, August 1 – Thursday, August 3 from 9-11 a.m. at SVGS
EXPLORATION INTO EXCEL: EXCEL is a technology used routinely in math, science, research and engineering classes to make multiple calculations and assist in data analysis.
When: Tuesday, August 1 – Thursday, August 3 from 11:30 a.m. -1 p.m. at SVGS
